Individuals with epilepsy may require emergency medication or rescue medication such as Buccal Midazolam.
Our epilepsy emergency medication training looks into the key principles of epilepsy awareness and administering Buccal Midazolam. Learners will be able to understand how to administer both pre-filled and drawn up emergency medication. Additionally, it supports staff to gain an understanding of how to respond to an epilepsy emergency.

Who is this course for?
Our Buccal Midazolam training is suitable for experienced staff and a new member of staff. Whether they are new to epilepsy and Buccal Midazolam or have previous experience, our aim is to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence.
How long is the training session?
Learners will understand the key principles of supporting an individual with epilepsy through an epilepsy awareness course. Our Buccal Midazolam course will then be delivered. This course can be delivered over half a day (approx 3-4.5 hours) or a full day (approx 6-7.5 hours).
How many staff can attend?
We have a maximum number of staff who can attend our clinical courses which is 12. This is to ensure learners have an opportunity to engage with the trainer and interact in the practical elements. If you have a larger team, we can provide two half day sessions catering for up to 30 staff on the same day.
How much is this training?

What about certificates?
You will be sent a PDF certificate upon attending and passing our training course(s). Certificates are typically sent out on the 7th or 15th of the month, whichever is sooner upon full payment. Though we seek to email them to you within 3-5 working days.
Who delivers the training?
The trainer will have experience in the field and skill. The trainer may come from a non-clinical background (e.g. experienced care manager) or be clinically trained (e.g. Nurse). They will also have experience in training and have a training qualification e.g. Award in Education and Training.
What will the training experience be like?
Our training is engaging and interactive. We use scenarios and discussions to prompt thinking and problem-solving. On this course, learners will have the opportunity to role play with Buccal Midazolam demo kits.
Can you provide competency assessments?
Yes we can. We can provide classroom competency assessments or workplace competency assessments. Consent by the appropriate person must be obtained prior to the workplace competency assessment. If you are looking for more regular competency assessments, these can be provided too.
